Chapter 326 A man who does not plan for the future will have trouble in the present.

The conversation between the two relied entirely on the power of the Mind Stone in Joey's hand. To Batman, it looked like Superman was talking to the brain that was soaking in nutrient solution.

So he silently moved closer to the worktable where he had just placed the bat belt.

Upon realizing this, Joey immediately waved his hand to stop Batman's little actions: "Don't cause any trouble, I'm not being controlled!"

His interaction with Professor X did seem a little strange, so it's no wonder Batman was wary.

As for what gadget Batman is going to pull out to solve the problem, Joey decided to leave that curiosity for later.

Professor X knew where Ultron had placed the Space Stone—it was in the same universe where Joey and Parker, in their panic, first encountered Ant-Man, Magneto, and their 'clones'.

All Professor X asked for was for Joey and his group to take him along.

"What's going on here?" Joey wondered to herself.

The scene is getting weirder and weirder, isn't it?

As the most powerful telepathic mutant, Professor X is almost second only to Phoenix and Scarlet Witch in terms of mental danger. The only thing that restrains his powerful abilities is his own morality.

Since arriving in the Flashpoint universe, Joey has become incredibly knowledgeable in every sense of the word:

The ruthless villain Thomas Wayne; Diana Prince, the British conqueror; and a genocide (attempted).

Arthur Curry; Planet Extinction, Krypton's "First Citizen" Jor-El; and all of these, along with their various "friends and partners," are a veritable who's who in Joy's universe, making Joy now extremely hesitant to gamble on whether any of the characters he encounters will be good or bad.

Who knows if Professor X might be harboring malicious intentions?

Even if Professor X invaded Joey's consciousness, Joey felt that the subconscious mind at the bottom of his heart, which only pursued survival, could completely tear the other party's mind apart, but there was no need to take that risk, right?

On what basis does he believe Professor X? Is it because "belief needs no reason"?

"Mind control requires a suitable medium to act on the outside world, and sometimes it also requires a brainwave amplification machine to amplify it. Without a suitable body, I can't even project my consciousness into other people's minds."

Professor X's phantom image can only be seen by Joey himself, which confirms the other party's statement:

"Ultron has already considered all the risks you can think of. Without the Mind Stone, I would just be a brain in a vat, and we wouldn't even be able to communicate."

Joey stroked his chin, thinking that Professor X's words made sense: "What do you want?"

Upon hearing Joey's words and noticing his thoughtful expression, Batman immediately realized that the latter was weighing the pros and cons and quickly offered a reminder:

"No matter what the other party promises you, don't believe him. We know nothing about him."

As Batman, Superman instinctively feels that things are bound to go wrong whenever he thinks about something, a professional habit he has developed over a long period of time.

Fortunately, Joey is the kind of person who readily accepts advice; he's happy to share things he doesn't understand with others, turning them into their own problems.

"Is that Space Stone important?"

From Joey's description, Batman felt that the so-called "Space Stone" was nothing special; functionally speaking, wasn't it just the Mother Box?

Besides opening the blast channel for teleportation, the Mother Box has many other uses, while the Space Stone seems to be only used for teleportation.

"Now that you mention it, the Space Stone doesn't seem to be that important!"

The ever-calm Batman is quite adept at dampening the enthusiasm of others; he almost convinced Yang Yi to ignore the Space Stone.

But then I thought again, "The important thing isn't the Space Stone, but all the Stones!"

The six gems may each have their own strengths and weaknesses, but when they are combined, they produce an effect greater than the sum of their parts (1+1>2).

Once all six are collected, one will have mastered the power of creation, which transcends the material universe. Even if Shenron came, Joey could grant it three wishes on the spot.

Joey has acquired three of the six gems: the Time Stone, the Mind Stone, and the readily available Space Stone. Only the Power Stone, the Reality Stone, and the Soul Stone remain elusive.

Having come this far, no one has any reason to stop collecting all the gems at this point.

"Listen to me, Bruce, this might sound a bit far-fetched, but we must collect the gems to prepare for the future..."

Holding the two gems, Joey tries to explain his motives to Batman. He's not some evil villain from a fairy tale who's been blinded by the gems; he has real reasons for doing it.

"Stop talking." Batman stopped Joey's argument, and for the first time ever, agreed with Superman's opinion: "I agree."

The two agree on one point: Iron Man Tony Stark's unfortunate universe doesn't face as imminent a life-or-death crisis as the Flashpoint universe, but it's certainly not a benevolent place either.

Batman's inexplicable sixth sense also gave him a warning. Like Superman, he felt that beneath the calm surface of the current crisis, there were still unpredictable undercurrents lurking.

If the gems are truly as powerful as Superman claims, then collecting them is imperative for a safer future.

The only thing the two of them need to consider now is how to achieve this goal safely and discreetly.

At that very moment, while Superman and Batman, the "world's best duo," were frowning and worrying about the unseen future, at the same time on Stark Tower, Tony Stark, who had returned from a somewhat too-wild parallel universe, was raising his glass high:

"Look who's here—let the music continue, let the dance continue, to the Avengers!"

Yes, he's never been the type to throw a party alone. Since Superman wanted to act all serious and Batman is a social outcast, he simply invited another group of "colleagues" he hadn't gotten to know yet.

Apart from Thor, who was in Asgard and had just escaped Hades, all the Avengers were present.

"May you always have peace of mind, Dr. Banner."

After removing his armor, Tony first clinked glasses with Dr. Banner, the human form of the Hulk. After exchanging pleasantries for a while, before leaving, he cautiously asked:

"Our relationship is alright, right?"

1

Dr. Banner was completely baffled by this nonsensical question: "Tony, what are you talking about?"

As fellow scientific geniuses, he and Tony probably have more in common than all the other members of the Avengers combined, so why would the other person ask that question?

That sounds like, "Are you going to be with me or not?" It's as childish as a kid's question.

I'm fine, have a nice evening.

Tony, having brushed off his own unusual behavior, strode away from Dr. Banner.

He couldn't explain what it meant for "in another timeline, the Hulk tried to kill everyone on Earth in the future, but after taking only two steps, he crashed into someone's broad chest and spilled the glass of wine he was holding, which cost at least tens of thousands of dollars, all over the other person."

"Be careful!"

Faced with Tony's attempt to shift the blame, the newcomer reached out and helped Tony straighten his slightly swayed body: "Are you alright?"

Having just emerged from the crowd and covered in spilled alcohol, Captain America looked rather disheveled, not because of Tony's drink, but because the Hollywood stars Tony had summoned were keeping him busy.

It's not that he was particularly shy. As the first perfect superhero in American history, Captain America was an American hero and a national idol before he went to war.

He toured extensively as the military's propaganda mascot, flying all over the country, and captivated countless wealthy women.

He's just old and out of touch with the times, but he's never been some innocent old Chu Nan.

"Ah, Captain America—"

Upon seeing Captain America, Tony, who had previously been calling him "Popsicle" from behind, suddenly froze, speechless for a moment.

It wasn't until this moment that Tony realized the terrible state of the cyborg Tony Stark in another universe, and the dark future he had mentioned, had truly terrified him.

At first, Tony thought it didn't matter, but upon closer reflection, he realized that many of the bad choices made by the cyborg Tony were indeed things he himself could do.
