Chapter 488: Making A Choice
Chapter 488: Making A Choice
"Thankfully, there is no need for such a thing at the moment. I already possess what you currently need."
"Information regarding the Super-Grade Academies mostly remains a secret. I know how hard it will be to make a decision."
"Fortunately, your aunt is here to save the day! Attached to this message is information regarding the Super-Grade Academies! I hope you will take a good look at it before making your decision!"
"Your Aunt, Anna."

[Reminder: It has been detected that the attached file is extremely large. Please be careful.]
...
Liora was caught off guard.
She was surprised by both the contents of the message itself and Anna’s swift response.
She had not taken the initiative to tell her the results of the assessment yet. Moreover, judging from the short amount of time since they had separated, it was nearly impossible for the Dean or Elena to convey what had happened.
Yet... her aunt had already learned about her assessment’s completion. More accurately, she even knew what her final rating was.
"I’m afraid that my aunt’s status is not as simple as it seems on the surface. The Dean claimed that information regarding the Super-Grade Academies is a high-level secret—even he does not know much about them."
"To be able to gather so much information in such a short amount of time, Anna’s status is bound to be extraordinary.", Liora deduced, looking at the attached file measuring in several terabytes with a weird expression.
She didn’t try to digest this on her own. Instead, using her consciousness as a bridge, she passed the information to her AI Assistant.
Then, the split consciousness returned to her real body.
As she looked at "Alpha", who was looking at her back, Liora spoke up, giving a set of instructions.
"Integrate all the information in the attached files. Keep the most crucial tidbits regarding each Academy and prepare a report. Give me an overall evaluation of them."
Her continuous requests would have caused an ordinary person to be displeased. But the AI Assistant showed no change. She calmly bowed and replied:
"Yes, my Lord."
The moment her words fell, countless numbers and symbols flashed within her amber pupils.
They constantly sifted and rearranged, as if they were peeking at the very essence of the world.
It was only half a minute after Liora gave the order that the AI Assistant’s eyes turned back to normal.
Without Liora needing to do anything, she took the initiative to speak up.
"My Lord, I’ve already sifted through 673 terabytes of information. Following your requests, I’ve condensed the most important information into the bare minimum."
"The five Super-Grade Academies all appear to have a Rank 10 Awakener at their helm. They are considered a large force among the Human Federation, with their graduates holding important positions and relying on each other."
Following this, the AI Assistant gave a brief report on each of the Academies.
The name given to each institution was not random.
According to Anna’s information, each Academy focused on a particular subject.
The War Academy mainly concentrated on combat and war, causing its students to have the strongest combat prowess. On the other hand, the Mechanical City followed the technological route, while the other universities had similar relations to their names.
"Anna mentioned that I should choose the Evolution Hall if I wish to focus on the evolution of my genes."
"The Bioresearch Academy is the best if I want to integrate the bloodlines of other races, while the Medical Research Institute focuses on the development of drugs and potions."
Clearly, the selection of these five Academies was not random.
Not only did each of them have a powerful being in charge, but they also provided several routes for students to pursue. With these five working together, the Human Federation would have a stable output of researchers, troops, and even medics.
"Other people might ponder over their decision for long, but for me, the decision is not as important."
"My main goal is to gain the Authority to access more knowledge regarding the power system and this world. As Academies with Rank 10 Awakeners, all five of them can provide me with a suitable environment."
The strongest Awakener Liora had met so far was the Dean, a mere Rank 3 Awakener who was even weaker than her.
Yet, based on the simulations she had conducted in the Battle Arena, she had already roughly understood the levels of Awakeners.
The ones she cared about were the Ranks 7 and above. That was because Awakeners of this level were already equivalent to Archdevils.
The Ranks 7 to 10 corresponded to the four substages of the Archdevil stage, while beyond that was Rank 11—beings suspected of possessing the power of Ancient Devils.
Thinking that she’d have the chance to come into contact with such beings not long after she arrived in this world, Liora couldn’t help but sigh.
"My decision to follow the normal procedure and act as an ordinary member of the human race has already paid off. This is the advantage of a law-abiding society. As long as you’re talented enough, you will be cultivated."
"If I were to show such ’talent’ in other worlds, I would have died the very next day."
Shaking her head, Liora’s consciousness connected to the Virtual Helmet, and she activated the token given by the blue-haired woman.
She had already chosen which Academy to attend.
It didn’t require much thinking. Though Liora had conducted research in the past, she had not descended in this world with the hopes of becoming some great researcher.
Her true purpose was to confront the Hollow Ancestor. And to do so, she had to do everything in her power to increase her strength.
The easiest ways to do so at the moment were only two: to upgrade the Cosmic Devouring Technique and thus speed up the transformation of her cells, and to fully utilize her precious Predation talent.
Both of these required the same thing: to kill a large number of creatures, whether it was to plunder or to accumulate Evolution Points.
"Only the War Academy, which is said to be in constant conflict with extraterrestrial races, can provide me with such an environment.", Liora muttered.
